WeatherNet's exclusive network of urban based weather stations means that we can normally provide you with uniquely relevant historical weather data from close to your construction site.


NEC Report

This report is typically used for documenting or evidencing weather that prevailed on your construction site and demonstrating whether conditions for the month as a whole were normal or adverse.

For any construction site, for any month, this NEC report presents:

  • Actual weather recorded at a local weather station for each day
  • Highs for the month highlighted red and lows, blue
  • Air frosts, heavy rain, gales highlighted turquoise
  • Summary of weather experienced for the month as a whole
  • Normal (i.e. expected) weather for the month (based upon the previous decade or so)
  • Difference in weather from normal and remarks on any anomalies
  • Comparison against the 1:10 year event



JCT Report/JCT Weather Data

This report is typically used for documenting or evidencing weather that prevailed on your construction site and demonstrating whether conditions for the month as a whole were normal or adverse.

For any construction site, for any month, this JCT report presents:

  • Actual weather recorded at a local weather station for each day
  • Highs for the month highlighted red and lows, blue
  • Air frosts, heavy rain, gales highlighted turquoise
  • Summary of weather experienced for the month as a whole
  • Normal (i.e. expected) weather for the month (based upon the previous decade or so.)
  • Difference in weather from normal and remarks on any anomalies








Downtime Report

This report is customised to your working day and working week. It documents and quantifies precisely how many working hours were lost over the course of a month to adverse wind, temperatures and rainfall and whether there was an excess or deficit compared to normal (i.e. the same period for the previous decade or so).

For any construction site, for any month, this downtime report presents:

  • The actual hour by hour weather for each working day
  • Daily count of working hours lost to various thresholds of wind speed, rainfall and temperature
  • Monthly totals of working hours lost to various thresholds of wind speed, rainfall and temperature
  • Total working hours expected to be lost to various thresholds of wind speed, rainfall and temperature in an average year
  • Net surplus or deficit of working hours lost to various thresholds of wind speed, rainfall and temperature for this year
  • Extremity of wind speed, rainfall and temperature for this year (i.e. was the weather exceptionally adverse or unprecedented)





Weather Frequency Analysis

This report provides detailed statistics about weather most likely to be experienced during any contract and the probability of encountering various extreme events.

For any construction site, for any period (month, season, or the year as a whole), this report presents:

  • The likelihood of a day equalling or exceeding any value of temperature, sunshine, rainfall or gust
  • The average interval before recurrence (i.e. the return period) for a day with any value of temperature, sunshine, rainfall or gust
  • The modal (most common), mean (average) and median (midpoint) values for temperature, sunshine, rainfall and gust
  • The proportion of all days reaching critical values of temperature, sunshine, rainfall and gust
  • Record highest/lowest daily temperature, sunshine, rainfall and gust
  • Wind rose for dominant wind direction (at time of maximum gust)
  • Proportion of all days with thunder, hail, snow falling/lying.



Environmental Report

This report describes the annual wind distribution and rainfall for any site. It is often a prerequisite when making applications for quarrying or landfill.

For any construction site, for the year as a whole, this report presents:

  • The distribution for all hours of mean wind speed and direction
  • The proportion of all hours that are calm
  • The average number of days for each month that are 'dry' (i.e. <0.2mm rain).









Weather Forecast Application

WeatherNet's forecast application provides accurate, reliable and precise predictions for all types of weather likely to impact progress or safety on site, for up to 16 days ahead. Forecasts can be viewed for the whole of the British Isles, or for any specific location or postcode. For the first 8 days the forecast can be broken down to individual 3 hour periods - allowing you to plan in detail.
