WeatherNet is a subsidiary of Synergy Cloud, the data and technology company owned by Claims Consortium Group. WeatherNet specialises in supplying online weather applications, weather data sets, weather reports, consultancy and advice. The company was established in 1995 to provide postcoded weather information to UK insurers to help verify claims for storm, freeze and flood.
Although insurance remains a key business sector, WeatherNet has diversified, to offer bespoke services to industries such as legal, construction and forecasting.
WeatherNet are a recognised authority on UK weather and climate and hold a comprehensive and constantly updated archive of quality controlled weather information from our own exclusive network of urban manned and automatic weather stations throughout the UK.
Each station has a full complement of recording and logging equipment, for temperature, rainfall, sunshine and wind. Many weather stations also record other elements such as pressure, visibility, humidity, snow depth, ground and soil temperatures. Where the weather station is manned, a descriptive account of the weather should also be available. From this weather data, weather averages and extreme weather events can be calculated or shown to see if a particular weather event was severe or unusual.
